Enhanced Materials
SepraSeal and DuraSeal caps are made of an advanced thermoplastic elastomer that acts as an excellent vapor barrier for both water and DMSO. Studies have shown that even SepraSeal caps pierced hundreds of times allow less than 2% evaporation per year. SepraSeal caps will maintain a strong seal at temperatures down to -80°C, and are chemically resistant to DMSO.
|
Easy Application
SepraSeal caps are applied in mats of 96 caps with our SuperSealer automated cap mat applicator. After the mat is applied, simply remove the backing sheet to leave each tube individually sealed.

Sample Access Options—Individual Tube Caps are Available as:
Solid SepraSeal caps that can be removed for sample access, or pierced a single time.
Pre-split SepraSeal caps can be removed for sample access or easily pierced by liquid handling piercing needles. Due to their resealing properties, caps can be pierce even up to 200 times without increasing in sample evaporation or water uptake. Pre-split caps require much less piercing pressure than solid caps.
DuraSeal caps are available pre-installed in any of our tubes and are a thicker, permanently installed version of the pre-split SepraSeal. Ideal for use when caps will be continually pierced, DuraSeals feature a thick v-shaped lead-in that reliably guides liquid handler needles towards the split in the cap.
